About us |
| Formed in April 1996, Valeways is a unique
voluntary environmental organization, which supports a diverse
range of volunteers to re-open and promote the Vale of Glamorgan's
glorious countryside. We are an independent registered charity,
no.1062031. |
Valeways exists to: |
Encourage
and support the community to open a sustainable network of
PROWS principally in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Promote
the accessibility of the Valeways footpath
network, enabling the
community to enjoy and appreciate the environment they are exploring
in a responsible manner.
Provide
an enjoyable, valuable outlet for volunteer involvement. |
| We are involved in a number of projects linked
to health and tourism. Our most prestigious project to date
is the Millennium Heritage Trail, a 63-mile historical walk,
which is divided into 16 sections. We also run several healthy
walking schemes, which promote well-being and social inclusion. |
How we work |
| We work in conjunction with volunteers from
our community to enable and promote access to our beautiful
countryside. A wide variety of tasks and interests are offered
to our volunteers, depending
upon areas of interest and abilities. |
