VOLUNTEERS

Looking for a new healthy interest?
Valeways are presently recruiting Volunteer Walk Leaders for their Easy Walking program in and around the Barry area.
Esay walks are just 30 minutes and like their name very easy. 2 leaders run each walk and volunteer commitment may be as little as 2 sessions a month. Full training is given in walk leading and first aid.
It’s a great way to volunteer in your community, socialise and keep fit all at the same time! please contact us for more information

We work in conjunction with the people of our community to enable and promote access to our beautiful countryside. Valeways exists by involving and supporting people of every age and ability in all sections of our work, from practical clearance of routes and footpath installations, to indoor administrative duties. We provide support, training, life long skills and personal development to our expansive range of volunteers. Our international links extend to hosting long-term International volunteers, and running an annual International Youth Camp in which young volunteers from around the globe come to the Vale of Glamorgan to volunteer with our project.

A wide variety of tasks and interests are offered to our volunteers, depending upon areas of interest and abilities. Primarily these are:

The clearance of overgrown vegetation and litter from the footpaths
The installation of stiles, posts, bridges and other footpath structures
The light maintenance of existing Valeways routes
Adopting, monitoring and reporting on conditions of each walk
Delivering leaflets around the Vale of Glamorgan
Participating in our Walking for Health Scheme, through weekly, or even daily 30 minute walks around the Vale
Participating in evening community 'pub' strolls
Administrative help

We would be delighted to hear from anybody who shares our passion in the creation, maintenance and enjoyment of our Vale of Glamorgan.
