Ystradowen church. Footpath to road at Ash Hall. Continue north (following MHT waymarks)passing Mynydd Y Fforest and Tynytranch Farm then turn east to road at Fforest-fawr. Immediately after crossing M4 turn east along footpath and then follow road to The Elms. Follow lane back over M4, passing church to join A4222. South along road for a short distance and then left to follow track (still with MHT waymarks)downhill to north side of lake. At end of lake turn right(south) to join the road south of Keeper's Lodge Farm. Return along footpath southwest through woods and fields via Wern Fawr to starting point. NOTE: The path here has been diverted from the route shown on the 1998 edition of Explorer 151. The new route which is well waymarked is a great improvement.
